Creatures in Liminality
Liminality
The quality of being in between two places or stages, on the verge of transitioning to something new. There's a liminality to the brief moment between being asleep and being fully awake
Welcome to a world where clay transforms into the ethereal realm of 'neither dead nor alive'—a space where animal spirits come to life. In the hands of the artist, each sculpture is an exploration, a journey into the in-between of life and death. Drawing inspiration from the animal kingdom, these pieces are more than mere creations; they are the embodiment of emotions—grief, despair, and the apocalyptic. The clay, touched by the artist's hands, takes on a life of its own, becoming a form that transcends the ordinary. From the smooth elegance to the raw, each sculpture speaks a unique language. Using stoneware and paper-porcelain, the artist seeks a delicate balance, a refined rawness that captures the essence of the animal-free taxidermy. Ranging from 15 to 45 cm in length, these sculptures beckon to be hung on walls, inviting you to connect with the emotions they convey. Intertextual in nature, the work draws inspiration from the heartstrings of every animal and sculpture that has left its mark. This is more than art; it's a message to the soul. As the artist continues to sculpt, each piece unfolds, revealing the animals that are yet to emerge—inviting you to discover what creatures still linger in the hands of creation.
Collection
All Sculptures are hand made, unique and individual in their being. If your eye find a sculpture that has been sold, please let me know, and I will create a sculpture to your desire.

The works on display are not the only ones... Some are in mid creation, between bisque firing and clay. Feel free to contact me and I will show you what I am working on.
